Who Uses BoreDM

The modern subsurface standard

BoreDM streamlines data management in one seamless platform.

A project's log table on desktop, showing field app, AI import, and gINT import sources, alongside the same project open on a phone
  • Centralized database: Map view, 3D visualization, and standardized descriptions across every project.
  • Field data collection: Log on a phone or tablet, even offline. Entries sync automatically once you reconnect.
  • Lab testing: Custom templates and ASTM-based checks, with results that autofill to your log.
  • AI digitization: Convert decades of paper and PDF logs into structured, searchable data.

Seamless integration across systems

Connect lab results, GIS, and CAD in one streamlined system, or build your own connections with our open API.

BoreDM's workflows make us far more competitive, efficient, and fast. Revolutionary is a great word for what this integration between BoreDM and VIKTOR is doing.

The BoreDM team

Built by software engineers, for geotechs

Founder Louis Aaron came to BoreDM from operations at a tunneling company. Working with gINT on the job, he found the interface dated and the data inaccessible. A simple question, the depth to caliche across a project's alignment, turned into a manual slog through PDF after PDF, copying values into a spreadsheet by hand. When he couldn't find a better tool on the market, he decided to build one.

That gap became the starting point for BoreDM: short for Boring Data Management. Louis spent time with geotechnical engineers around the world before building it, and had built a team of geotech professionals, data specialists, and software operators to continue to build a product customers love.

BoreDM is built around the actual shape of subsurface work: logging in the field, running lab tests, generating cross sections, and producing clean reports, all in one platform instead of a set of disconnected tools.

Frequently asked questions

BoreDM was built to revolutionize the way subsurface data is collected, stored, and analyzed. Our software provides the first modern interface for field logging, lab testing, and cross-section generation. By standardizing your data and automating entry, BoreDM cuts manual work compared to legacy tools.

After a demo, we set up a trial environment loaded with your own project data, so your team evaluates BoreDM on work you already understand rather than on sample data. As a trial user, you'll have full access to every feature in your chosen plan, including our full suite of integrations, customizable reports, and mobile logging.

At BoreDM, we take data seriously, and that includes protecting it. Our team runs state-of-the-art security systems, and proves it by undergoing annual independent audits to validate our controls against SOC 2 Type II standards. Your borings are your business, so we utilize AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit, and isolated AWS VPCs. Within your organization, all BoreDM data is permissioned by strict role-based access, ensuring only authorized people and processes can access the dirt on your dirt. Read more in our trust center.

You bet your boulders it does. BoreDM stores entries locally, so you can log and take notes offline. Once you're back online, the field records automatically sync up with our desktop platform.

BoreDM is designed to be intuitive, so most users get comfortable in minutes. Every subscription includes free, U.S.-based customer support for as long as you're with us, with an average response time of two minutes during business hours. You can also browse hundreds of step-by-step articles or ask Auggie, our AI support bot. Teams that want hands-on help getting started can add premium onboarding, with live training from our deployment specialists.

BoreDM fits seamlessly into your existing workflows. We support imports from gINT, Excel, KML/KMZ, DIGGS, and AGS files, with additional formats available upon request. Or, if it's easier, just use our proprietary AI to digitize paper and PDF logs instantly. When you're ready to share your work, we support exports to AGS, DIGGS, KML/KMZ, Excel, and CSV, with additional formats available upon request.

Secure by design

BoreDM runs on AWS infrastructure with AES-256 encryption and SOC 2 Type II certification, keeping your data secure: every field note, every test result, every log.
